Well after running the new patch for a few days im not happy with it. ive noticed a few issues that were not present with 1250. 1255 seems less stable and more prone to crash to desk top. never had trouble with stutter or freez frame with the 1250. i just installed two nvidea 8600gts cards in my sli pc and im running 2 gigs of ram with a amd 2.4gig 3800 so i dont think its my pc. im considering going back to the 1250 for my server. when s8 razor and i get the race schedule ill be running the american lemans series with the 2003 season mod. i believe its one of the best mods in the game and seems to be popular with just about all who race it. i think its got something (car) for every one. look on the dl page for this great mod soon. thanks to all the hdrw's for all the great times racin.

That is really strange, because exact the opposite is true for me . . . I can now run my Geforce 5950 ultra at the highest settings WITHOUT the stutter that it was having at that setting before patching. I have had no crashes, and just about everything has improved with loading time being the most important to me.
Has anyone else had problems similar to HEMI's? If so, please post those problems so we can get an idea of anything that the others may have missed. Also, if you've had problems that you were able to work out, let's get those posted.
SecTi0n8, we may need to move this thread and make sure that this problem is addressed. If one of us is posting about problems after installing the patch, then it is probable that more than one of us is having problems. That would be a shame after all the positive feedback on the patch, but it would be better to go ahead and address it now. Before installing the patch, all we had to go on was other peoples' reports, now we must determine how it is affecting our group.
That being said, I will say that I have a P4 running at 3.0 GHZ (no overclocking for me) with 1 GB (512X2) DDR 400 memory (dual channel) and a Geforce 5950 Ultra PCIE 256MB, all on an Intel Motherboard with the i875P chipset. I know that NFBS Graves says he is using a Core 2 duo 2.13, EVGA 680i mb, 2 gig Corsair 800 mhz ram, EVGA GTX 8800 768 meg ram, Logitech MOMO (his sig).
For anyone having problems with the patch, what is the setup on your machine? There could be a problem with the patch as it relates to a specific processor or other specific piece of hardware. Then, if no one else is having the same problem(s), and we should find that it is a specific piece of hardware, then ISI needs to be made aware of the problem and given an opportunity to address it.

my two cents: i don't know if this is specifically related to the 1255f patch having only run 1250 for one week and 1255f patch for two weeks or so......but since loading the patch my pc crashes to windows about one or two times to the windows screen after choosing car and game mode (either online or offline), before finally letting me continue with actually playing the game.
other than that it is ok. i did notice that for the the first online race using 1250, i did not have my video card overclocked and the starts were smooth with no screen jitters. for the second race (patch 1255f was applied). during the second race i was running my card maxed out and all was fine at race start. for last nights race i forgot to put my vid card in overclock mode and couldn't see and/or control the car at all during the start of the race. don't know if the patch takes more of a graphics toll for anyone else. racing games don't seem to have the need for a monster graphics card in my experience compared to most of the online shooter games i have played where 100 or more people are on the same server where bullets, explosions and the like would tax your graphics card to the max. there....you need the fastest card you can afford.
time will tell if its the patch or my system. i'll test run some 1250 and compare it to 1255f to verify this.
AMD fx-62 running at 2.98GHz OC'd and x1650gt wound up to the hilt can easily run even the shooters at high graphics quality with "blooming" effects and all the AA, FA and other related BS turned off at 1024x768 in all but the latest games.
More speed plz.

Just a thought, based on personal experience with Nvidia's GeForce drivers:
The latest and greatest drivers are usually not the best ones to use if you have an older version of the video cards. Like Micro$loth's assault on HP at the beginning of XP, sometimes drivers are written to make a video card obsolete. It worked for Micro$loth. Ever wonder why your old printer that worked perfect under 98 looked like a cheap comic book print after XP? Drivers were written to discourage continued of perfectly good hardware, which was a tough as an old boot. I still have my HP 820Cse printer, and it still prints PERFECT under 98, ME, and Linux. But it WILL NOT work properly under XP because of drivers.
If you have updated the drivers from NVidia, like most of us do, go back to the drivers that came with your video card, or find someone who has the next version from what came with your card. If you didn't update, try updating. The same goes for motherboard drivers for the chipset. The newest is not always the best.

The only time my game crashes is when a player leaves the server before going to the pits first. It happens on the home and my server, 1250 and 1255f both.

Well, I don't know. I was practicing with another couple of racers and when the server crashed one of them commented that the other left without going to the pits first on TS.

Exiting without going to the pits . . . ALT+F4 maybe??? CTRL+ALT+DEL for task manager then select "End Process" maybe???
Other than something like that --- or unplugging your router --- I can't think of any way to do that.
